Wote walikuwa wamepanda basi hilo lililokuwa linakwenda Dar es Salaam likitokea Mwanza kupitia Nairobi, Kenya.

Ajali Ya Mohamed Trans Yaua 30!

"Nyuki Hakumbatiwi"

New Employment Rules. What do you Think?

SICKDAYS:
We will no longer accept a doctor's certificate as proof of sickness. If you are able to get to the doctor, you are able to come to work.

SURGERY:
Operations are now banned. As long as you are an employee here, you need all your organs. You should not consider having anything removed. We hired you intact. Removed of any organ constitutes a breach of employment.

HOLIDAYS:
Each employee will receive 104 holidays per year. They are called Saturday and Sunday.

BEREAVEMENT LEAVE:
This is no excuse for missing work. There is nothing you can do for dead friends or relatives. Every effort should be made to have non-employees to attend to the arrangements. In rare cases where employee involvement is necessary, the funeral should be scheduled for the late afternoon. We will be glad to allow you to work through your lunch-hour and subsequently leave one hour early, provided your share of the work is done.

ABSENT FOR YOUR OWN DEATH:
This will be accepted as an excuse. However, we require at least two weeks’ notice to allow time for you to train your own replacement.
TOILET USE:
Entirely too much time is being spent in the toilets. In the future, we will follow the practice of going in alphabetical order. For instance: All employees whose names begin with 'A' will go from 8.00 to 8.20, employees whose names begin with 'B' will go from 8.20 to 8.40 and so on. If you are unable to go at your allotted time, it will be necessary to wait until the next day when your turn comes again. In extreme emergencies employees may swap their time with a co-worker. Both workers' supervisors must approve this exchange in writing. In addition, there is now a strict 3-minute time limit in the toilets. At the end of 3 minutes, an alarm will sound, the toilet paper will retract, and the door will open.
LUNCH BREAK:
Skinny people get an hour for lunch as they need to eat more so they can look healthy, normal size people get 30 minutes for lunch to maintain their average figure. Fat people get 5 minutes for lunch because that's all the time needed to drink a Slimfast and take a diet pill.

It is advised that you must come to work dressed according to your salary. If we see you wearing designer clothing we will assume that you are doing well financially and therefore do not need a payrise.

Thank you for your loyalty to our company. We are here to provide a positive employment experience. Sea cable Ushers in New Internet Era!

The first undersea fibre optic cable went live in five African countries simultaneously on Thursday, marking the beginning of an era of faster and cheaper internet connections.
A privately-funded consortium, Seacom, commissioned its Sh59 billion ($760m) undersea cable in Kenya, Tanzania, Mozambique, Uganda and South Africa with Rwanda set to be linked up in the next two weeks.
This effectively means that Kenya is now part of the global information superhighway and will be able to compete on a more level platform with more established economies.
The commissioning in Mombasa, was marked with a live telecast by Tanzanian President Jakaya Kikwete in Dar es Salaam, who was linked with journalists in Kampala, Maputo, Johannesburg, London and Marseille.
“The arrival of this cable signals the beginning of a new era in the telecommunications sector,” said Mr Kikwete. “History has been made.”
Eastern Africa has been the only region in the world not connected through an undersea fibre optic cable and has had to rely on the more expensive satellites whose charges have been as high as Sh540,000 ($7,000) per megabyte.
“Today is the day technology has arrived in Africa,” said Cisco Systems vice-president Le Roux, whose firm provided the technology for the cable.
Seacom announced that it would offer wholesale prices in the range of Sh7,700 ($100) per megabyte, with even more subsidised costs of between Sh770 and Sh1,925 ($10-$25) to schools, research and health institutions.
Connectivity
“Broadband will change the connectivity and economy of Africa,” said Seacom president Brian Herlihy in a live feed from the Tanzanian capital.
Five yet-to-be-named internet companies were the first to access the 6,500 kilometre-cable and will now connect their equipment to the marine cable as they prepare to link offices and homes.
However, the consortium warned the public that they will have to wait a little longer for cheaper Internet as industry players will first want to recoup their investments.

JFK Jr. Plane Crash Anniversary!

It's been 10 years since the plane crash that took the lives of John F. Kennedy Jr., his wife, Carolyn, and sister-in-law Lauren Bessette. The Kennedys' marriage and the promising lives ended by a tragic accident.

The plane: John was flying a Piper Saratoga II the night of the crash.
The search: It took nearly a week for divers to locate the crash site.
The cause: John had gotten his pilot's license about a year earlier and had about 300 hours of flying experience. The NTSB's final report attributed the accident to pilot error and weather.
Bad luck? Some attribute Kennedy family deaths and accidents to a "curse." There is even a book about it.

Mwafaka Madereva Wa Daladala, Serikali Wakwama Kimara!

Apigwa Faini Kwa Kuendesha Gari Huku Akioga!

SUMATRA, Polisi Zinashindwaje Kuwasaidia Wanafunzi?

The Tide Turns For luxury Cars!

Treasury now thinks Mercedes Benz once a favorite of officials, is bad for its image.
How times have changed. Who would have thought a day would come when the government of Kenya would think that the Mercedes Benz, the ultimate status symbol, was bad for its mage?
A day after State House rejected 8 luxury fuel guzzlers, Treasury yesterday dropped the broad hint that the Benz, the mark of ministers and senior government officials, will soon be a thing of the past.
The government now wants vehicles that sip, not guzzle, petrol. And it is not enough for a vehicle to be no more than 1,800cc it must be cheap and be seen to be cheap.
“It is a question of attitude and perception. To the majority of Kenyans, it does not matter what model a Mercedes is a Mercedes and it is expensive….as a government, that is not the kind of image we want to pass on to Kenyans”, said Finance Permanent Secretary Joseph Kinyua.
Therefore, while some Mercedes models meet the 1800cc limit announced in this year’s budget, the models would still send the wrong message to most Kenyans.
The government is expected to buy new vehicles for government officials once they comply with the austerity measure announced by Finance Minister Uhuru Kenyatta in his budget speech presented to Parliament on June 11.
Mr. Kenyatta directed all Cabinet Ministers, Permanent Secretaries, Provincial Commissioners and other senior public officials who are entitled to official cars be given vehicles whose engine capacity is no more than 1800cc.
Mr. Kenyatta, his assistant minister Dr. Oburu Oginga and Mr. Kinyua started using Volkswagen Passat, complying with the directive on the same day.
With the exception of the Mercedes Benz, many of the cars surrendered under the austerity measures will be given to the police.
“Definitely we will not give the police Mercedes cars. But the police have been asking for vehicles, and there is no need of buying new ones when we have others” said the PS.
He was speaking to the Daily Nation at Treasury after Mr. Kenyatta and Swedish Ambassador Anna Brandt, signed a Sh.3.5 billion-a-year development cooperation agreement. The agreement will run for five years.
Mr. Kinyua said the government expected to generate about 500million from the sale of cars returned by its officials.
The money will be used in an economic stimulus package and social projects such as resettling internally displaced people.
Earlier, Mr. Kenyatta prasied the move by the President and First Lady Lucy Kibaki to reject the 8 vehicles, saying the government will save about 150 million.
“Kenyans expect us to be a government that is not engaged in any extravagant expenditure”, said Mr. Kenyatta.

Conflicting Reports Over Plane Crash Survivor

The Associated Press says that initial reports that a 5-year-old boy had survived a jetliner crash in the Indian Ocean are now in question.
According to Rachida Abdullah, an immigrations officer in the Comoros, where the plane went down, it appears that the survivor is a 14-year-old girl, the AP says. Neither report could be independently confirmed.
The Yemenia Airbus jet with 153 people on board crashed into the Indian Ocean on Tuesday during an attempted landing in strong winds on the island nation. There was no word on other survivors.
